Well, I can't tell whether Magic Lantern for Canon hates batteries or if my 500D batteries have come to the end of their rechargable life but, when placed into 'motion detection' mode (constant 'Live View' screen on), they last about 15 minutes to dead flat! Anyway, here is a view of one of the new 'ML' set-up screens - so many options and possibilities I could be playing with settings for weeks (well, minutes, unless I get new batteries / mains adapter!).

Day 3/365 - Still raining!
Day 3 of 2013 (and my 365 Project) and I don't think it has stopped raining since Christmas! Already clutching at straws as to what to photograph, and keep dry, I tried out Magic Lantern's firmware patch for the Canon EOS 500D...this upgrade could keep me occupied for months; video recording down to 0.2 fps, automatic nine shot HDR capture for stills, focus racking and much much more.
Not really a fair test of its capabilities, I accidentlaly set off an HDR 5 exposure capture whilst hand-holding the camera, vaguely pointed towards the TV - obviously NOT a suitable subject (each frame being a totally different image). Combining them with Photomatix Pro 4.1 produced the rather abstract composite image below. Hopefully, if the rain ever stops, I will be putting this combination to better effect ourdoors.
